Parrish Smith - Psychometrist

INT-THE HOLE IN THE WALL BAR-NIGHT

LOOKING down into a swirling glass of whiskey.

LOOK up and to the left to see the bar. SAUL stands behind the bar cleaning glasses. HAWK, tough looking gang member wearing the colors of the NIGHTCRAWLERS, finishes his drink.

PARRISH, early 30's with shoulder length hair, looks sloppy. He sits in a booth across from the bar. The bar has a few low-life’s drinking and talking. Hawk makes his way to the bathroom. Saul looks to Parrish and nods. Parrish continues his drink. A few moments later Hawk comes out of the bathroom and exits the bar. Parrish finishes his drink, walks over to the bar and slaps down some money in front of Saul and walks out.

EXT-CITY STREET-NIGHT

A dead city street. Parrish watches Hawk enter a beat up apartment building across the street, second from the end. Parrish leans up against the outside of the Hole and lights a cigarette.

A few moments later Hawk exits the building with another person, walk up the street and disappear around the corner. Parrish makes his way over to the apartment building.

INT-ABANDONED APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY-NIGHT

Parrish enters the building and pulls a stun baton from his duster. He quickly checks the hallway and pokes a head in one of the apartments. He HEARS a groan come from upstairs and quietly make his way upstairs.

INT-SECOND FLOOR-NIGHT

Parrish, at the top of the stairs, HEARS the groan again and heads, cautiously, to the first door on the right.

INT-APARTMENT-NIGHT

Parrish slowly walks through the hallway of the apartment to the rear, which is the living room. On a torn up sofa sits CAMMILLE, a young blond woman looking ragged and slowly rocking back and forth, looks as if she is in a world of her own. Parrish reaches out to her.

PARRISH

Come on.

Cammille snaps back to reality.

CAMMILLE

Who the hell are you?

PARRISH

C’mon.

Parrish grabs Cammille by the arm and gets a jolt. Parrish SEES.

INT.-APARTMENT BEDROOM-NIGHT

Skull, a large muscled man with a skull painted on his face, stands over Cammille, ready to strike.

INT-APARTMENT-NIGHT

Parrish lets go of Cammille and falls to one knee. He drops his baton and holds his head.

Skull enters the room, sees Parrish to one knee and kicks Parrish in the ribs. Parrish staggers to both feet in time to catch another kick in the chest sending Parrish out through the window and into a heap of garbage outside.

EXT-ALLEYWAY-NIGHT

Parrish slowly makes his way out of the trash heap. A dingy looking derelict looks up from the trash heap.

DERELICT

You...you wrecked my house!

Parrish, ignoring the derelict, pulls from his duster a custom gripped full auto heavy pistol. He slides out the clip and inserts a clip marked with blue tape.

PARRISH

They always have to do this the hard way.

Parrish jogs down the alley to the rear of the building.

EXT-FOUR WAY ALLEY INTERSECTION-NIGHT

Parrish rounds the corner and sees nothing.

A SCREECH of tires is heard and Parrish turns around and sees the lights of a car down the alley. He runs toward the car, quickly jumps from a garbage can to a dumpster and fires a burst hitting the windshield.

The car swerves out of control into the dumpster as Parrish jumps of it in time. He lands on the trunk of the car and rolls off clumsily. Parrish is grabbed by Skull and thrown against the alley wall.

SKULL

I though I got rid of you!

Parrish, on one knee, blocks a kick from Skull and punches him in the groin. Skull crumbles to the ground.

PARRISH

Guess not, dick.

Parrish gets up, wipes his mouth, looks around for Cammille who is nowhere to be found.

PARRISH

Damn.

Parrish thinks for a second and then looks back to Skull. He walks over to him and raises his foot to stomp on him.
